Gloucester Ski Club is a dynamic, fun and successful club, based at Gloucester Ski Centre, and is primarily for children; however we do welcome parents on the slopes to join in.
One of the oldest clubs at the ski centre; we have constantly performed with many skiers going on to represent England or Wales and the Great Britain teams.
Our goal is to make each individual a technically better skier, whether you wish to race at the highest level or become an instructor and work all over the world, Gloucester Ski club is a good starting point.
Our extensive dry slope training programme includes two training sessions a week, along with additional training camps around the Easter, May, summer and October school holidays.
We race as a club at the Gloucester based Regional Summer Race league, with many of our skiers going on to race at National and International races on dry slope, and then progressing to race on snow and represent their Home Nation and Great Britain.
Our coaching team has some of highest qualified coaches working for the club, who regular coach on snow, or have spent ski seasons working abroad which will ensure you get the best coaching available at a local level. Our regular current staff include
- Hedley Beavis – SSE Level 4 Performance Coach
- Angela Hiller – CSIA Canadian Qualified Instructor
- Richard Lambden – SSE Level 2 Instructor
- Thursday 6.30 – 8.00 p.m.
- Sunday 6.00 – 8.00 p.m.
Cost – £4.00 per session, plus slope fee
Gloucester Ski Club doesn’t run any snow training or instructor training but we use our partners to feed our skiers into their programmes. Snow training is tailored to your needs, but is primarily based around Dragons Alpine or one of the many Ski Race Academies programmes based in the Alps.
Instructor training, we feed you into the highly rated ski centre programme, which you can access from the age of 16.
We very much believe, do what you are good at and do it well – That’s Gloucester Ski club
Membership is open to all, with the club enjoying a fun family atmosphere. The emphasis is on everyone being able to ski and race at their own level, but most important of all, to enjoy it.
