Freestyle Sessions and Airbag

For all riders looking to get bigger air, better grinds and improve their sending capabilities!

Please note to take part in these sessions you need to be able to ride to our recreational standard, if you are unsure if you can there is a helpful table at the bottom of this page with detailed level descriptions. If you fall a little short of them, we have a diverse range of lessons that can help you get there!

Ski Level Description
1 You are familiar with ski equipment, can walk and slide on a flat surface, sidestep up the beginners slope and slide in a straight line back down
2 You are able to snowplough down the slope and use it to control your speed and can use the lift
3 You can make small directional changes down the slope in a snowplough and can maintain control through bigger turns
4 You can make continuous smooth controlled turns in a snowplough at various speeds and terrains (This is our recreational standard)
5 You have been introduced to the idea of parallel skiing and can match skis during / after a snowplough turn
6 You can performed S shaped parallel turns with lots of skid and can vary turn shape to control speed
7 You can perform parallel turns down a narrow run whilst maintaining control and you can hold a carving motion down the slope by using the edge of the skis

 

Snowboard Level Description
A You are familiar with snowboard equipment, can walk and slide on a flat surface, sidestep up the beginners slope and slide in a straight line back down
B You are able to sideslip down the hill on both sides of the board in a straight and diagonal line and have been introduced to the lift
C You can board in a falling leaf motion on both sides of the board and can use the lift witout any help
D You can turn in to the fall line from a sideslip and finish the turn in falling leaf with lots of skid
E You can turn out of the fall line to make a C shape turn successfully and link multiple turns without loosing much speed (This is our recreational standard)
F You can perform high speed turns using the edge of the board in a carving motion with only a little skid
